| In the period of the Republic of China, Guangdong's political situation and social economy were in a severe state. This greatly inhibited the development of Guangdong's population. That is, the increasing speed was slowed down compared with that in the end of the Qing Dynasty, and was far below the average increase of the whole nation. And the population structure and aggregate changed in various degree. However, in each stage of the whole period of the Republic of China, the development of Guangdong's population had a trend of "increase slowly, then decrease and increase slowly again".
