In any literature and literary criticism, there exists "two spaces" and their corresponding understanding means, one is "the poetic space of life" and its "poetic interpretation", the other "cultural discourse space" as well as its "cultural explanation". The "quality of Wen" of Chinese general literature and its theories of Wen, means nothing but "cultural space of Tao" in Chinese language. Nevertherless, the "poetic quality" of European and American aesthetic literature and its poetics, refer to the "cultural space of Logos" in western languages, thus forming a fundamental pattern of "heterogeneity" between the two spaces. The respective evolution of "modernity" in Chinese, European and American languages has been no more than a modern witness of the mutual "heterogeneity". The author here considers that it is to make a "poetic interpretation" to "space of quality of Wen" in Chinese and to "poetic space" in western languages, with the intention of "penetrating" into another space into Chinese and western literature, namely, into the mutual, common "poetic space of life", and the internal impacting, tangling and entangling relations between such a poetics and the respective "cultural discourse space", so as to define the fundamental blending point in both Chinese and western literature and literary criticism practices.
