From Han Dynasty to Tang Dynasty, The Chinese porcelains had undergone a great development. In this course, foreign culture influences were the important factors. In this dissertation, I discuss the artistic conception of three objects: the goblets, the cups with winged ring-handles, and the jugs with dragon-handle. I am of opinion that their original creativity is not Chinese, but should be credit to Rome.I collected the materials of Chinese porcelains of these three objects as entirely as possible, and on basis of such works, I try to find the laws of their evolutionary changes, to analyze the inherent relations between shape differences and the ways through which Roman culture entered in China, to study the factors of Roman culture absorbed by Chinese porcelains during this period, and to reveal the situation' ^f foreign culture factors' harmonious melting into Chinese porcelains. The studies are not only helpful to understand the evolutionary changes of Chinese porcelains, but also helpful to research the relationships between Rome (Byzantine) and ancient China. I center here on the issue of relationships between the Han Dynasty and Roman Empire that was paid much attention in academic circles. With the supports of archeological materials, I am inclined to consider that there existed direct and close communications between the Han Dynasty and Roman Empire.
