For many years, Wang Guo-wei's tragic views have been regarded as translation and transplantation of Schopenhaner's theory of tragedy. The auther start with the basis of interpretation and acceptance - lawful prejndice and think that Wang's tragic views should be regarded as the first dialogue between the tragic consciousness of traditional culture and theories of western tragedy. Acceding to the viewpoint, the author try to inquire into the characteristics of native tragic consciousness of Wang's tragic views.Wang's tragic views are mainly placed on "Reviews of The Dream of The Red Chamber", "History of traditional opera of The Song and Yuan Dynasty" and "QuYuan's Literary spirit". There are three issues in Wang's theory.First, life is pain and the individual existence is Wang's theoretical start -point. Second, the individual life - will is the root of tragedy. Third, the function of tragedy is to make oneself extricate from misery. The three issues may seem the transplantation of Schopenhauer's tragic views, but there are also three reformation of mainlandization: First, the start point of Wang's tragic views is the philosophy of life, but not the ontology; Second, in Wang's opinion, the way of extrication is not Schopenhauer's Enlightenment that come from God, but Comprehension that is the national way of extrication. Third, the point of view of the individual existence is doomed to lead Wang's pessimistic conclusion that the life is nothingness. It is the tragedy of Chinese culture that follows the principle of collective subjeceivity.Tragic consciousness is the important component of Chinese culture. The author hold that tragic consciousness is a kind of cultural fashion which grasp the tragic of life. It includes two essences: experiencing and understanding misery and the way of treating sadness.Wang Guo-wei's tragic views mainly reflect the feature of the confucianists culture. There are two causes that the native characteristics of Wang's tragic views are neglected by researchers: First, the interpretation and acceptance are viewed as one-way passive process and thus the dynamic role of the lawful prejudice of receiver is ignored. Second, the sense of cultural inferiority is another important reason.
