The period of the Eastern Han Dynasty - the Northern Wei Dynasty is the most glorious period of the development history of Luoyang City .In this period, Luoyang, as a political , economic and cultural center of China or North China for a long time ,has enjoyed the very important position. However the study about Luoyang City of this period is mostly limited to archaeology or architecture, the study about historical geography is the stage of a beginning. Based on this, I want to have a try from this angle. This paper probes in two parts: the evolution of its form and of its internal spatial structure. I hope we can have a overall viewpoint on Luoyang City at that time from this work, and I also hope the study I have carried out can provide some references to construction of Luoyang City of today. This paper mainly consists of two parts. In first chapter, the evolution of Luoyang City form is emphatically investigated, its including there divisions .The study of its city wall and dimension is the first division. Then, the evolution of its streets and citygate is analyzed .The last is the issue on the development and evolution of its axis wire .By investigating and analyzing the process of these evolution, we point out that its form is accomplished not in the first time but after several reconstructions and expansions, and that the design of capital axis wire in ancient China is also continuously developed and improved in Luoyang City. The last chapter's focus is the evolution of its internal spatial structure also including three divisions: the period of the evolution of the eastern Han Dynasty, the Cao Wei and the Western Jin Dynastyand the Northern Wei Dynasty .In each important period the distribution of the political center economic center, the residence and others will be the key point discussed . From the upper analysis, we can draw these conclusions that the political center has a evolutional process from the politicalsystem of the South-North Palace to the political system of the Simple Palace in this period (from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Northern Wei Dynasty) ;and that the setting-up of the economic center also breaks the tradition that there must be one big market in the eternal city of Luoyang because of the capital expansion and the increase of the population. Instead of this, three big markets are all arranged to the outer city; and the residence is also under the firm control of government: that is they are limited to the system of Li-Fang.
