With the speeding up of opening-up to the outside world, especially after its entry into WTO in 2002, China has ushered in a new era of international cooperation and exchange. Chinese college and university students, as the mainstream of such cooperation and exchange, face an urgent need to improve their communicative competence. Based on the established theories and practices about communicative competence, context, culture and communicative language teaching, this paper is intended to formulate a framework of communicative language teaching based on the integration of the context of culture and the context of situation and undertakes four case studies of the framework in different teaching tasks of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Then, a detailed discussion is carried out about the various factors involved in the framework. |
