The paper tries to explore the asymmetric phenomenon between affirmative and negative complement that states " can" in northern dialects by comparison with Standard Chinese.I. Introduction .This part designates the target and scope of study, pointing out that the asymmetric form {VCle}/{VbuC}is used widely, instead of word "de "in affirmative and negative complement that states " can" in northern dialects, which deviates the symmetric form{Vde C}/{VbuC}.II. Description. The paper in this part makes a full description of the asymmetric phenomenon from four aspects: form A B C and object position which are equal to Standard Chinese.III Explanation. This part studies the asymmetric phenomenon from dialect typology and tries to explain it from the grammaticalization process of main markers "de " and " le" of complement that states "can".Finally the paper puts forth the necessity to study this asymmetric phenomenon in the conclusion part.
