Chinese is one of the languages whose dialects are complex. Survey and research on dialect can not only unearth the rich language resource to provide the lots of materials for study of languages but also illustrate the condition of language using in the area. Then it can give the law of the development and the corresponding pattern of Dongming Sounds and Beijing Sound so as to providing documents for studying the history and status quo of the area.The treatise is about the Sound of Dongming County in Shandong province. Dongming lies in West-south Shandong province where two province of Lu-Yu meets. And its dialect belongs to Zheng-luo part of the central plain Official language. Although someone had talked about the dialect in the paper, no one gave a comprehensive study on it. So it is important to write the treatise. The treatise chose Dongming town as data-drawing point. The treatise gives entirely and deeply describing and study on Dongming phonological system with the research method of synchronies description and diachronic comparison.The treatise is .made up of four chapter s. following is its main contentFirstly, it is introduction, which introduces the condition of collecting materials.The first chapter introduces the geographical locations, the populations, historical course and social conditions. It provides the necessary background data for grasping and understanding the Dongming dialect.The second chapter is phonological system. In this chapter we list the initials, finals and tone of the dialect and explain the special phenomena because it is necessary. Thenwe makes phonic combining chart to illustrate the relationship of initials, final and tone and point out the things that it must be noticed. Finally, syllabary of homophones is made to give detail materials for understanding phonetics structure of Dongming dialect. When made the chapter, it is given a notice to select out the more characteristic dialect words so as to provide an entirely and accurate phonetic structure.The third chapter deals with mutation, mainly discussing assimilation, dissimilation, tone sandhi of disyllables, variant pronunciation, and special mutation. Assimilation and dissimilation phenomena are comparatively rich, so they are illustrating by lots of examples. Sound uniting is special phenomena of the dialect. Sound losing are rare but the treatise also list examples to illustrate it. Tone sandhi of disyllables takes place in the words with two syllables. The treatise gives two aspects about the problem. Special mutation is the mutational phenomena whose changing rules can't be found. The treatise lists many examples to analyze them one by one.The last chapter is discussing on the comparative phonology about the comparison between Middle ancient time sound and Dongming sound. The comparison is based on Dongming Sound. How the middle ancient times sound develops in Dongming dialect can be discovered through the diachronic comparative method and the law of sound change can be concluded according to comparison of initial, final and tone.This treatise is the basis of personally investigating and taking relatively wide spread proof. The aim of the treatise is to give us a comprehensive understanding and mastering on the phonetics feature of Dongming dialect. It is of more current significance for the dialect studying.
