The paper aims at making a study of Popular Literary since the New Period and trying to discuss some theory questions.The paper consists of four chapters:The introduction give a definition to "Popular Literary" . Chapter l:The reasons of Popular Literary' s emergement.Popular Literary fits on the psychology of rest, giving people "fast food" of literary. In reality, only reading can meet people' s special demands. As everyone has curiosity, it' s anther thing that Popular Literary must think over. Chapter 2: The questions of Popular Literary' s features.This leads to absence of initial thought, lower writing technique, and too simply characters. Chapter, 3: Popular Literary' s commercial value.The product of art cements the necessary labor, so it has value. When the product is bartered with money in the culture market, it has exchange value. It can fulfill the special needs, so it also has use value. Though literary can bring about profit in communication, Popular Literary goes to extreme. Chapter 4: The profound significance of Popular Literary.Not only the chivalrous novel, love novel existing previously, but also the star autobiography, anti-corrupt novel in recent years mostly express life' s appearance, instead of excavator it. The phenomenon is closely related to the postmodernism. They dispel significance, history and are divorced from the reality.
