Jin Shengtan initially set up the system of narrative theory of ancient China .The theory mostly passed the modern information . In this dissertation the writer tries to study Jin Shengtan's .novel comments with modern western narratology, to find out the commonplaces and differences, to comment Jin Shengtan' s contribution for the construction for narrative theory of ancient China.There are five parts in it.The preface briefly summarizes the research achievements obtained about Jin Shengtan' s novel criticism and bring forward the writing characteristics and the brain of thought in the dissertation.The text includes three chapters. Chapter 1 analyses Jin hengtan' s theory of perspective. Section 1 inquires into Jin Shengtan' s discrimination between the perspective of narrators and the perspective of characters. It has some depth, but also has some obscurity. Section 2 analyses Jin Shegntan' s viewpoints on the use of character' s perspective, including the brief and the veiled of narrative, creating dramatic effects, depicting the figure' s characteristic, briefly discusses Jin Shengtan' s opinions on some special perspective.Chapter 2 expounds Jin' s narrative rhythm theory . Section 1 discusses rhythm through interest , and expounds Jin' s rhythm opinion by emphasizing the interest conflict between "Mangxian" and "Gangrou" Section 2 discusses rhythm through momentum, anddiscusses Jin' s rhythm theory by laying particular stress on the aspects like "Dun" " Die " " Fandie" "Qinzong" and "Pupai" etc. Section 3 discusses rhythm by the length , lays particular emphasis on the alternation of long words and shorts words like the careful writings and emitted words, "Dawen" and "Xiaowen" etc , to research Jin* s rhythm thoughts and compares it with western narrative theory which creates rhythm by the replacement of scene and summary each other.Chapter 3 is about Jin' s narrative voice. Section 1 expounds Jin' s understanding on the moderate degree of the narrator' s intervening. Section 2 analyses Jin' s deeply seeking on implicit narrative voice.The ending summarizes the whole dissertation, and summarizes Jin' s value and influence in novel criticism history of China.
