The Research For The Evolution Of "得" And Relevant "得" Sentences Before Tang Dynasty

This dissertation discusses the evolution of "å¾—" in meaning and grammatical function and relevant "å¾—" sentences before Tang Dynasty, and interprets preliminarily the machanism which remains during the evolution of "å¾—".Changing from a general verb into an auxiliary verb was the first important development in the evolution of "å¾—" during the Pre-Qin Period. Then "å¾—" evolved gradually into an aspectual particle and a structural particle along two respective meaning lines: "obtain" and "can" .At the same time , the relevant "å¾—" sentences developed correspondingly. With the guide of the grammaticalization theory, the dissertation tries its best to combine form and meaning, static studies and dynamic ones, descriptiveness and illustrativeness. When necessary, it investigates the cimcumstances of "å¾—" in Chinese dialects, providing more data and evidences for the research of the evolution history of "å¾—"This thesis consists of four sections. The first section is the introduction, which sums the present situation in the study of "å¾—" .The second and the third are the main body of the dissertation. According to three factors as follows: the judgment of the auxiliary verb "å¾—" , the semantic extension, the preliminarily grammaticalization, the second section discusses the first important evolution of "å¾—" in thePre-Qin Period-changing from a general verb intoan auxiliary verb. The third observes two patternsof "å¾—" from Han Dynasty to Wei-jin South-North Dynasty. Finally, the author gives a concluding remark in the fourth section.
