A paper on Fang YuRun's study of The Book of Songs(Shi Jing). Fang YuRun's study is a book which has many original ideas in researching on The Book of Songs ,it is lifted out of distortion through the ages and it opened a new road for itself.Fang YuRun's view on the nature of The Book of Songs as literature.He tried to find the right theme of every poem on the basis of his own literary researching .The article researched on this book in 3 chapters.Chapter 1 discussing many ways does Fang YuRun use to find the right theme of poems in The Book of Songs.lt points out Fang YuRun's dissatisfaction to former research on The Book of Songs,especially to Shi Xu 诗序 and Chu His's Shi Ji-chuan 诗序传.Fang YuRun tries to explore original idea of poems in The Book of Songs with his own ways , which reveal his erudition, insight and courage.Of course,some ways of Fang YuRun's study influenced by former research.Chapter 2 is the most important part of this paper.lt analysis Fang YuRun's view on the nature of The Book of Songs as real poem. Fang YuRun applies a serial of ways of literature to research on The Book ofSongs,which is the achievement of this book and affirmation of it.Chapter 3 talking about limitations of this book.Though Fang YuRun have many creative ideas ,he sometimes makes mistakes when he think of the poem subjectively and when he was restrained by his age. To sum up,we should deal with it not only know of its limitation ,but also affirm its achievements objectively.
