This paper, from a monk's standpoint, begins with the historical review of the development of Buddhism and the Chan sect in ancient Vietnam, and then sums up the characteristics and style of the Chan Poem in both ancient China and Vietnam through approaches of appreciation and comparative analysis, and finally pins down a joint point where the Chan poems of both countries can seek a common ground from the perspective of Buddhism and Zen literature and accordingly realizes how they have affected politics and social life at that time.In writing, the author attaches great importance to the study of the Chan poems in ancient Vietnam, launching a close research on its development and changes, characteristics and significances. In organizing the thoughts of the paper, the author firstly makes a brief survey of the creation and development of Buddhism, Buddhism Study and the Chan sect in ancient Vietnam; and secondly partly involves some Chinese Chan poems, on the basis of which some representative works written by renown Zen master or poets in both countries are carefully chosen for comparative analysis. Man Jue.)All through the paper, the author works out the corresponding relationship between the Chan poems of both countries, and sums up their historical development trend by analyzing the works' thematic significances, writing backgrounds and artistic features, aiming at seek out a joint point where the Chan poem of both countries can meet and find out the influence they have exerted on politics and social life.
