The Worldly Affection--On The Populace Stand In Wang Zengqi's Literary Works

Compared with the majority of writers of his times, the creation of literature by Wang zengqi takes on numbers of differences in many aspects. The reasons giving rise to this kind of phenomenon, of course, are closely connected with his special literature concept, but the most fundamental factor lies in his standpoint of discourse.So, it is said in this thesis that the creation of literature by Wang zengqi is an activity of artistic creation directed by his civil discourse system. Guided by this kind of standpoint of discourse, his literature creation, both stories and essays, appears a strongly civilianising trend. In his words, its concrete manifestations are proved by his aspiration for worldly human feelings and human nature, by his taking great delight in worldly life and disclosing the folk significance of ideals concerning human nature. Correspondingly, from this angle we can explain some literature concepts and esthetic characteristics showed in works by Wang zengqi more properly than from other angles.In this thesis, we try to clarify the arguments above by analyzing his stories and essays.
