Being And Understanding--The Study Of Gadamer's View Of Understanding

In order to cope with the challenges which Positivism and Historism give to Human Sciences, Dilthey tried to establish the scientific foundation of epistemology and methodology for human sciences through Henneneutics, but this kind of Hermeneutics fell into dilemma when it recognize "history". The view on understanding of Gadamer's hermeneutics made hermeneutics ascend from the level of epistemology to the level of ontology, which extricated itself from the dilemma of traditional hermeneutics on some sense by agreeing phenomenology with hermeneutics organically. The main ideas of the view of Gadamer's understanding are as follows: 1 .Understanding is not the consciousness activity, which the subject recognizes, the object, but is the existing way of "Dasein". 2.The subjective understanding of history is the objective effect at the same time which history bring up, Being and understanding are united together in the "effective history". 3.The truth of understanding is to make the existence be what it really should be ,4.The logic of understanding is a kind of logic of question-answer essentially. The view of understanding, logics and the dialectics of hermeneutics unitetogether in the experience of hermeneutics.Both the view on understanding of Gadamer's hermeneutics and the Marxism epistemology face the public challenge of objecting the traditional epistemology. Both of them express the same concerns over the pre-system of epistemology and the role of language. So they have the same foundation of dialogue. But when it comes to the concrete question, they have cleavage as follows: Is the foundation of the view on understanding hermeneutics experience or social practice? Is the essence of the view on understanding effective history or the consciousness' mutual reflections? Can the truth of the view of understanding be gotten by dialogue or practice? Is the language a world-view or just a way of knowledge? At last, what is the difference between the view of understanding and the epistemology?...
