Ms.Chi Li is the representative writer of New Realistic novel, and some characters of feministic literature appear in her recent works.Chi Li created many different kinds of women characters in her novels in which she expressed those women's strong capabilong of adjusting themselves to their living surroundings through describing how they struggled, resisted and chose.The were some women who struggled bitterly for living in her writing .For example, La La in "You Are a River" had to prostitute for food in order to raise her children. She had to do it for living .Her strong will and strength were moving, but for her Living itself was a victory. There were also some women who were puzzled by love and marriage. Just as Ji Ling, a prostitute in the book "Don't Falk About Love." She was very calculating, and she took love and marriage as a way to changing her living conditions. The another women Su Suhuai in "Like a Rose Blooming Overnight " suffered a mental breakdown in the end because of her seeking a romantic love . Chili tried to prove the reality of love and marriage by describing the women's misfortunes to show the great hurt that their romantic dreams have brought to them .Chi Li even tried to display women's resistance in a man-dominated society by analyzing their ideals of love and marriage .Qi Runwu ,Li KanLing and Ai Yun, three women in the book" Good Moring ,Miss", had never known each other before ,but at last they combined together, which means not only the help among the female, but also the struggle against the male. Lai Shuangyang, the character in "Life show", her status of living in the bottom indicated that she undoubtedly would spend all her life fighting against the men world .The women in Chi Li's writings were all strong-minded, their resistance also included the negation toward the traditional life patterns.Compare with Zhang lie's novels, the big difference of Chi Li's novels is topersue the pleasure of life itself. Fang Fang always looked closely at life withworried and critical eyes . The women in Zhang AiLing's writings couldn't get ridof their tragic fates , while Chi Li tried hard to propagate existentialism philosophyin her writings. That was Living was miserable, but so long as you had the capability and the courage of struggling to exist in the hard world ,you were a very capable person and you were likely to be happy.
