Chen Chen was one important writer during the Latter stage of Ming Dynasty and Initial stage of Qing Dynasty. Researchers have been lack of understanding or a lot of ambiguous to his basic situation of living and making friends etc. all the time, and the appraisal on his works of the person is also biased. In view of this, this thesis gives a brand-new criticize of the text and describe according to relevant achievements. On the basis of the new textual research, this thesis roughly describe Chen Chen's life characteristic and ideal pursueing combining with the individual characteristics reflected in Chen Chen' s works. Thus Chen Chen is originally really appraised, at the same time , Chen Chen's life shape is objectively unfolded. By this means, Chen Chen's potential value is presented in the process of rewriting the literature history.Section One is mainly about Chen Chen' s relative criticize and differentiation or analyse. On the foundation of knowing about Chen Chen, this thesis gives some new conclusions about Chen Chen' basic situation of living and making friends via searching new relative materials: Chen Chen was born in 1615 not 1613 or 1614;his other names are Chen Yandang > Chen Yandang or Chen Xiaxin, but "Chen Jingfu" is not his name ;Besides some of the Jingying poets' club memebers, Chen Chen' s friends are mainly Dongchi poets' club memebers. As for Chen Chen, Dongchi poets' club is probably more meaningful than Jingying poets' club. Chen Chen's poems storing we can find are 115 but not 106. The book "Dong Ning Ji Nian" is not absolutely written by Chen Chen. Precisely speaking, the novel "Shui Hu Hou Zhuan" can not be named with "Hou Shui Hu Zhuan" .This thesis clarifies some historical facts as well as affirms that Chen Chen is a common people of ground floor and rock-bottom intellectual.Analysing Chen Chen's life shape via his works composes Section Two. According to Chen Chen' s status, this thesis detailedly exotiates Chen Chen' s life shape, which is characterized by tension that is between common and uncommon or is between resemblance and unresemblance. This tension are manifested with common customs lives> the situation of loyalty to before dynasty and literary creation. Pespecting the tension, we can realize that although Chen Chen was bonded with secularity , he could manifest gracious spirits;although Chen Chen looked like loyaltism , he had his own options and ideality ;although Chen Chen was affacted by the simulation custom in the process of literary writing, he was not immersed in the old tradition but surmounted it and took on intense individual being will. After narrating the three peculiarities about Chen Chen' s life and pursuit, we can notarize the particular life shape and ideal pursuing about Chen Chen.
