The Literary Value Of Jin Shu

Jin shu is one of sixth historical records been writed in the Tang Dynasty. It was costed two years to write it, and about twenty scholar joined in the writing work. After finished, historiography Liu Zhiji criticized shortcomings and mistakes about Jin shu, because many materials earned from the Shi shuo xin yu and Sou shen ji. Liu Zhiji is againsted that many literatures joined in the writing work, the history was literary grace. This opposition had been supported until Ming and Qing dynasty. In fact, the shortcomings of Jin shu, just as a evidence to that Jin shu is literature history, although this viewpoint was not been agreed until today.Before writing article, I referred to materials writed by modern writers. Some agreed to keeping historical materials of Jin shu, Some was not agreed with the opposition of Liu Zhiji. But the present situation of the whole was short of writings to support Jin shu's compile style and characteristic overall. On the basis of this present situation, I attempted to study and discuss the value to history collected some literature works. At the same time studied literary flavor of Jin shu, discussed the cause about style of writing. On those foundations, we can comprehend the whole thesis more precisely by dividing it into two main parts:Chapter one is mainly about the study of Jin shu 'compile style and characteristic. At first, I introduced the amount and proportion of selecting literary work in Jin shu. In the second, discussed those materials to finding the shortcomings about select. After that, I analysed the achievement of record writings. On the base of the record writings, the relation between literature and history is further explored. At the same time, discussed the record words and opinions, so as to find the mobility and diversify of describing figure. In the end, I tried to find the connection between history and style of writing of Tang Dynasty.Chapter two on the basis of chapter one, drawed a conclusion: Three things account for the style of write of Jin shu.
