Camus is one of the outstanding personages who profoundly expose absurdity. "Absurdity" and "revolt" is a pair of core concepts in Camus' writings. The former sums up his sober consciousness of man's helpless in face of the world and existence, and it also deconstructs the confidence in man's power since renaissance; the latter makes clear the positive attitude man should have when facing such an existence. At the same time it is both a heritage and modern interpretation of mans dignity and pursuit of morality in traditional humanistic thoughts. In the tide of modern nihilism, Camus' thinking is a persistence of valuable life, and also a contribution to ideology, in the 20th century. This passage makes research on his thought from five parts.Part I : The origin of absurdity. At first, historical circumstances of western politics and economy are discussed ranging from the early 20th century to the middle of the 20th. Then this part investigates the source of theory and the relationship between Camus and existentialism.Part II: The theory of absurdity. This part is the focal point of this writing. First, this part confirms camus' position in the history of philosophy and literature. Then, beginning with analyzing his works of philosophy and literature, it discusses the feeling and concept of absurdity, giving out the causes of being absurd and specific appearances in real life. At last it presents the attitude of resistance to absurdity and the limit to it.PartIII: The differences of philosophy between Camus and Sartre. This part mainly discusses the different opinion of absurdity, freedom and common human nature between them. And it also discusses the different attitude to dealing with the relationship between individuals and others as well as the argument between them on fighters.PartIV: Reflection on absurdity in Camus' political points. This part discusses the reflection in camus' thoughts against fascism, legal violence and death penalty. And it shows the process of formation of these viewpoints.Part V: Thinking freely of camus' thought. This part tries to investigate the realistic meanings of camus' thinking. From the sense and value of existence of life that being absurd intends to pursuit this part attempts to investigate its meaning and influence...
