Thesis one: Tragic character and tragic lifeXie Linyun' s tragic life was not the ending from political persecution as tradition viewpoint, but an inevitable outcome of his tragic character which contained three aspects: autognosis mistakes , sentimental behaviours, the spur of instinct. All the three lended to invalid coordination between the reality and Xie Linyun ,thus tragic result had happened.Thesis two: Exploritation on Xie's guiding principles of literary creationThe Six Dynasties witnessed a thriving of philosophy and aesthetics of ancient China, of which Xie was Stimulated by the brand-new philosophic and creative ideas to give birth to his own principles of writing embedded in (1) aesthetic aspiration for nuturing personality, where Xie therefore introduced his aesthetic standpoint that empathy gave rise to aesthetics; (2) fusion of different writing styles, where Xie strongly suggested to tread the boundaries of writing styles thus to employ the strong points of each to the full extent, and (3) plainness and simplicity, to which Xie dedicated his last but not the least important cardinal that writing, a vehicle to outflow one's emotions, was supposed to reflect the poet's self-cognition so as to present readers a natural and tranquilizing atmosphere. Thesis three: aesthetic mood of lyric prose poemsPoems and prose poems were prevailing the Six Dynasties in the domain of literature, based on which Xie wrote a number of lyric prose poems which were widely acknowledged to have surpassed the preceding poems of the same kind in the respect that they emphasized a sort of aesthetic mood, unconventionally graceful, free but natural, fugal but crystal. Xie brought such aesthetic mood into being by employing the philosophy conveyed in Taoism and Buddhism, and he engaged in writing prose poems complying with the rules governing the creation of poem itself so as to be attached an important role in history of literature, thanks to the amazing state he created in which landscape poems exhibited picturesque implication, and the lyric prose poems were also assigned an aesthetic mood.
