An Exploratory Investigation On Interaction Of The Attachment Style In Romantic Relationship

Attachment is the important affect ional bonds, which begin with between infant and caregiver, and make infant gain warmth, security, care and so on which infant live and develop based on. There are very few researches on adult relationship from the attachment perspective in our country, especially, by attchment interview. Love is conceptualized as an attachment process, and the interaction of the attachment style in romantic relationship is investigated hi my own research. Attachment style is used to describe the features in attachment relationships. In romantic relationships, two partners' attachment style usually interact hi some way. Material is collected by the interview and dealt with content analysis.The result suggested that the different pah' bonds of attachment style interact differently: (l)secure(male) vs secure(female), they can communicate actively and equally, and look for a balance point between dependency and independency, which makes relationship in a stable state; (2)preoccupied(male) vs dismissing(female): the preoccupied is preoccupied in the relationship and is in the good need of love: If the preoccupied is a male ,he can meet his own needs actively and meet the dismissing partner's needs, despite the dismissing partner seems no needs; (3)dismissing(male) vs preoccupied(female): the dismissing male usually ignore the partner's needs, which is dissatisfied by the preoccupied female. This kind of pair need a peried of time to adapt each other or change themselves; (4)preoccupied(male) vs unresolved(female): the preoccupied is preoccupied in the relationship, while the unresolved sometimes ispreoccupied and sometimes refuse to attachment, which is puzzled and oppressed by the preoccupied. This kind of pair is usually in a unstable state. The matter of interaction of attachment style discussed is working model, that is, chosing romantic partner is based on prime working model, further interaction is going on through working model, and romantic relationship itself as an interaction can be interpreted by the structure of working model.
