As a literary form following poetry, not only did Sanqu inherit traditional tactics of poetry, but it also represented many innovations suitable for its unique style. Therefore, Sanqu carried with itself some distinct characteristics which were embodied in the following aspects:As to the manners of narration, Sanqu, while succeeding to two traditional "speech styles " of poetry -"speech -on -behalf style" and "self expressive style", also manifested originality to some extent. "Speech-on-behalf style" Sanqu wrapped up a greater variety of connotations than poetry and featured "noting speeches and motions". "Self-expressive style "Sanqu, in addition to displaying "emotion structure "with the help of "image structure", also expressed emotions directly by means of its specific "speaking frankly "manner.The metrical pattern of Sanqu was rather different form that of poetry. With expressive sentences, Sanqu can harmonize level and oblique tones with flexibility and combine the rhythm and emotions into perfection .Due to these factors, the rules and forms of Sanqu revealed a "beauty of masculine hardness" far from the "beauty of feminine softness" sholon by poetry.Being a special language of Sanqu, color acted as not only one kind of decorative means in painting scenes and characters, but also an emotion carried in producing contexts and expressing feelings.By setting the solid off with the void, and employing contrasting hues, the art of color has brought Sanqu as a "popular literature" into its full play.Based on the flexible and open language form, and influenced by "the funny and humorous aesthetic fashion", the rhetoric of Sanqu manifested tendency of seeking novelty and originality .In this way, Sanqu, while expressing, has reached summit where "no speech that can not be adopted and no events that can not be displayed."...
