Ⅰ Intuitionism and Franz Kafka's writing characteristickafka is the founder of modernism novel, his works have profound and far-reaching effects on many literature styles in 20th centrury.Persuit, anxiety, confusion and combat are the pernanent topics of his works, the mixture of illusion and reality ,rationality and irrationality, the absurdity, fable and multi-explantion are the basic characteristics of his works. The original topic and artistic styles that show personal troubles and living circumstances of 20th century come from Kafka's intuitionism. His intuitionism in writing comes from his introvert character,Kierkgoard's philosophy, and irrationalism.Intuitionist persists that the really powerful controling behaviors base on one's inner heart,we can only understand it by one's intuition rather than by scientific, logic methods.Castle is Kafka's representative work. The whole work is coverd with a mysterious, dreamlike atmosphere. The main character—K gives the reader an inexplicable sence of strangeness, lonliness and instability. He can't attain his goals in a foreign land.Ⅱ The narrative logic under the conciousness of intuitionismGenerally speaking, intuitionism and rationalism conflict with each other. From the surface, the writing styles of intuitionism and realism can't be put together. In Kafka's eyes, the world is a seperated, experincing place. He wants to reconstruct some world pattern, pursues a far-reaching writing style, and because of this,he produces a writing motivation, but his intuitionism does not reject the complete story structure and inner logic. The main narrative characteristic in Castle is that it gives up the traditional all-known narrative patterns, and apply the third character's limited angle of view to narrate the story. The narrative sound and the narrative angle of view do not come from the same narrator, but exist in the different characters. The narrator observes the Castle with the help of the main character—K's angle of view,we can only see what K has seen, but K will never enter the castle,so the reader will never disclose the secret of the castle. Therefore Castle's attractiveness,to a great extent, comes from its limited narrative angle of view.Ⅲ The character focus in the edge of reality and illusionKafka usually leads his readers to a once-familiar but strange, dreamlike world. He applies the conflicted styles in the traditional dramas, and by changing his narrative angle of view he makes his novel carry a comedy atmosphere. In Castle, the author lets many focus characters present at the same time, let them play a "reflective object"role to observe people and world with their eyes, and show the author's deep and profound soul.Ⅳ The disappearance of narrative sound and the uncertainty of existanceFor many years, the study and explanation to Kafka's works are mainly on the basis of the traditional,author-centered literature theory. We can find the "compound sound"structure in Castle, the lenthy dialogue between the main character and the other characters makes up more than one half of the whole lenth. The dialogues among characters play an important role in the course of narration, every character has his own value, side, moral judgement and living circumstances. In Castle ,the author avoids the subjective voice, let the character of the novel get rid of the control of the narrator, decline the main character's absolute host position, and therefore increase the novel's multi-explanation and uncertainty. The disappearance of narrative sound and the uncertainty of existance mark the transition from the traditional realism novels to the mordern norvels.
