| Distinguished from other genre of popular culture, the art of film is a more direct way to express the life and the innermost world of human being. Film art contains broad layers of art, from the non-utilitarian layer emphasizing the taste of esthetics, to the utilitarian layer concerning social, ethical and morality aspects. This report will intend to analyze the next two popular understandings regarding film art nowadays. 1. Film art is judged by box office - high audience rating means good movie. 2. Film art is by its meaning, the taste of art is the soul, - brilliant plot, beautiful screen playing, as well as splendid sound effect make the good movie; otherwise, it will be considered as a failure. Yet, in my point of view, neither of the two counts, but both do. The movie should satisfy and attract audience from different class. To satisfy different aesthetic feeling, the movie should comprise various arts, from the presentational to the ultimate. I believe a good movie should cover layers of art -sensibility, layers of Mindful Things in Life and layers of Spiritual Attainment. Accordingly,the audience may be pleased by the Joy of Visual Reflection-Audio Pleasure and Visual Pleasure;Joy of Enlightenment-Pleasure of The Mind;Joy of Spiritual Attainment-Pleasure of The Soul and Spirit. The threes layers of art are riot isolated to each other, but integrated in the center of the Joy of Enlightenment. These three aspects are connected to each other, penetrate each other and influence each other. Sometimes they flood to your mind at the same time, sometimes one leads to another. Most of the time, the impact stops at the Joy of Enlightenment as the inspiration phase is seen as too high to reach. People may have different understanding and feel due to the different angle and degree of each one's perception. This report will analyze the functions of different layers in consequence.
