The visages of European music and its connection with Chinoiserie of the 18th century are summarized in this paper.Based on historical materials, and by using various study methods as music theory analysis, music-history, music-culture, music-sociology, music-transmission and comparative musicology, various culture phenomena of the musical Chinoiserie of the 18th century are described, including the introduction of Chinese music, European music interrelated with china and the form of Rococo.This paper consists of the following 4 parts:Part 1 Description of the culture communion history between China and Europe. Through the description of the culture communion history between China and Europe from about 1st century to 18th century, the historical root of Chinoiserie is explained in the paper.Part 2 Chinoiserie of European music in the 18th century. As one part of Chinoiserie, there are a lot of attentions to china in music field, including literature and translated literature interrelated with china, the introduction of Chinese melody and instruments.Part 3 Rococo music and Chinoiserie in the 18th century. The form of Rococo music is introduced, and a viewpoint is put forward, that is, accompany with the appearance of Chinoiserie, the Chinese art styleinfluences the form of Rococo musical style to a certain extent.Part 4 Culture analysis. This paper considers that France culture's infection is essential in the forming process of musical Chinoiserie and Rococo music. And through the culture analysis, this paper considers that there are two culture phenomena: culture misreading and culture using in the process of Chinese music's western transferring; The influences of Chinese art style to Rococo style are mainly expressed in Chinese craftworks and Chinese gardens, rarely related to Chinese music.Conclusion: Chinoiserie of the 18th century affects Europe music greatly, but the Chinese musical culture that European have known is unilateral and anamorphic. Chinese culture affects the form of rococo indirectly, through the indirected influnce of Chinese art style, not the direct influnce of Chinese music.
