Research On The Psychological Tendency On Emotion Priming

Many researches on the relations of emotion and cognitive have been done in cognitive psychology. Many conclusions have been proposed, and some of them are opposite. This research is to explore how emotion affect psychological tendency by fractionating the cognitive procedure.This research adopt the short movies as the emotion priming technique; select some positive words, negative words and neutral words as cognitive words; and invite the college students as subjects. The research is carried on in 3 directions, by 5 experiments. In experiment 1,the subjects are induced in positive, negative and neutral emotion, than to see the quick-showing pair words to choose which have seen before. Experiment 2,3 is to discover how emotion affects recall. Experiment 4,5 are to discover whether identifying is affected by emotion.The results suggest that: (1). The emotion induction (short-excerpted-movies) is effective. (2). Mood congruent effect was revealed in attention, encoding and memory. (3). Comparing experiment 2,3 with experiment 4,5, it suggests that the effect of emotion is greater in information processing than in information recovering. (4)The male represent mood congruent effect more strongly than the female. The female tends more to the positive than the negative in the negative emotion. This phenomenon is explained by the egodefence mechanism.
