Research On Women'status During The Spring & Autumn And Warring States Period

The Spring & Autumn and Waning States Period is the important transiting period of the history of women'status. At the basis of the relationship between the productive force and the relation of production in Marxism, starting with the gender division of labor and the gender roles, this thesis studies women's status from domestic status, society status and the falling tendency of the whole. The author holds that on the account of the contribution of women and the vestige of Matriarchal society the women in the Spring & Autumn and Warring States Period weren't dependent to men absolutely; At the same time, women'status was inferior to that of men and had a falling tendency of the whole because of the economy system based on the gender division of labor, the political system and the folk custom influenced by the economy system, and the falling tendency signed the development of the gender division of labor which suiting to the level of the productive force; In fact, the rule of men was benefited from gender system which proved reasonably under the corresponding level of the productive force, and with the strengthen of the superiority of men in economy and the solidify of the gender style, the falling tendency of women'status continued falling in the following traditional society.
