Archaeological Study Of The Drum Building In The Spring And Autumn And Warring States Period

Drum building is one of the important percussion instruments in ancient China,mainly popular in the Spring and Autumn and warring States period and Han Dynasty,including drum body,Jacaranda pole and base three parts.Drum building is one of the important percussion instruments in ancient China,mainly popular in the Spring and Autumn and warring States period and Han Dynasty,including drum body,Jacaranda pole and base three parts.The drum body is mostly wood,perishable,so few wooden drum body unearthed;Spring and Autumn and warring States period unearthed some bronze and celadon drum and some objects decorative image data,Han Dynasty drum mainly some portrait brick,stone data.Drum building plays an important role in ancient temple sacrifice,banquet entertainment,military combat,social life and other activities.This paper mainly takes the building drum of the Spring and Autumn and warring States period as the research object,and collates the materials of different materials,including wooden drum body,bronze and celadon drum seat and portrait decoration.A total of 11 paintings of building drum,23 archaeological excavations and museum collections were collected during this period.This paper makes a typological analysis of the object of building drum seat,which is divided into four types according to the shape of drum seat.The decorative patterns of drum seat,including dragon pattern,flat chi pattern,snake pattern,animal surface pattern,tiger pattern and other animal pattern,kneeling figure pattern are analyzed and studied.In addition,some related problems were discussed,including the extended analysis of the common assemblage of utensils,and the comparative study on the construction of drums in the Spring and Autumn period and the Han Dynasty from seven aspects: drum seat,Jacaranda,drum body,top decoration,drummer,use occasion and appendage.It can be seen that the building drum system in the Han Dynasty is more diverse,the decoration and pattern are more exquisite and gorgeous,and the new performance form of building encouragement appears,and the use of building drum is more extensive.
