A Cognitive Study On The Constituent Order Of Bivalent Verbs Sentence

This paper tries to explore the mechanism and motivation of the constituent order of bivalent verbs sentence by using the cognitive linguistic theory , and investigates the generative situation of several typical constituent orders mainly, and a further explanation is made on the mechanism of the constituent order of bivalent verbs sentence. The paper consists of these parts:(l) the general explanation of the constituent order of bivalent verbs sentence; (2) the influence which the function words make on the constituent order of bivalent verbs sentence; (3) the mechanism of the supplementary verbs sentence ; (4) the motivation of the interchangeable sentences. In this paper, on the one hand, I follow this principle that the form is related to the function closely, so I not only investigate the structure of kinds of sentences, but also explore the function of different structures ; on the other hand, I think of Haiman's "isomorphism hypothesis" as the focus theory controlling the wholepaper--there is not any structures which have the same meaning ; differentstructures always include different meaning and function. When using this theory to explore the reason of different constituent orders , I found that as a Grammar means ,the constituent order is not only the change of structure ,but also conveys the motivation of Man's cognition . The study on the constituent order further argues that the lingustic structure equal to the meaning structure , Grammar is just only the reorgnization and symbolization of Man's meaning structure.
