Chinese modem literature, either the creative works themselves or the humanitarian circumstances and their theory backgrounds, ever pounded our thoughts about the society and the literature. Our literature ever held the old tradition of "what to write", then it believed the most important thing is "how to write" in 1980s, but "what do we write for" in 1990s.In this way, literature experienced the society's reality, then went further into the hearts' reality, finally it started its contemplation on humanity's existence condition.In the great times, when the values of the science and the rationality are taken seriously and it produced enormous material goods, beliefs' missing seems Oriental and Europeans' common feeling. As the direct witness and the most sensitive barometer, literature has undoubtly been involved in all the above. On Chinese modem literary circles which is filled with materials but lacks deep spirits, a group of literature manage to look for an ultimate way to save our lives and concern our existence. Of these works, this article chooses a unique one-Beicun's writing. By analysing the specific works, this article tries to find the internal relations between his former and post works. In the author's discovery, Beicun's works insist his concerning to humanity's existence and ultimate values of human beings all the time, which connects his works.Therefore this article decides, Beicun faces our soul and our essence of existence, and moreover he leads our spirits' home to our beliefs to God. Though this way may only be a romantic imaginary trip, but as a writer who has the courage to face our essence of existence, Beicun and his works are our important harvest in our times.
