The mid china is the center of Chinese politics and culture, and is the area of the common language of the Chinese people in history, too.Referring to the dialects of Luoyang , Zhengzhou and Jinxiang , focusing on the east part -Xuzhou and the west Hongdong , this thesis attempts to compare and analysis the phone and the vocabulary of the five dialects . At end it discuss and give a forecast to the development trend of Xuzhou dialects and Hongdong dialects.From east midChina to west mid China , the five dialects share remarkcharacters: the initials [n] read [n,] when it meet soma finals; doublefinals simplify to single finals; a lot of the terminal sounds now read uttered level ,a little read falling tone; some ancient Chinese has disappeared in mandarin but still exist in the five dialects.Although the distance between Xuzhou and Hongdong is far, the two dialects share many characters which only belong to them besides those the five dialects all have . For example the ancient Chinese initialsZhuang and ( ) Jing ( ) concourse, today they all read [ts], [ts'],[s].The common headstream of mid china mandarin and several times bigtransmigrations in history are the reason of the two dialects alike .The effect of circumstands and geographical condition , social customare the reason of the two dialects dissimilar.With generalization of mandarin and the fast development of cociety , Xuzhou and Hongdong dialects close up to the mandarin , so there become a trend that the two dialects gradually tend to be same. This trend maybe lead to some dialects die out , at last to simplify the language.
