A Research Of The Mandarin In Dongmen,Luocheng,Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

The mandarin of the Southwest which was the official language in Ming&Qing Dynasties. It gradually gains the dominant position and become authority language with the superiorities of the political, economics, cultural and educational conditions after widely entering in Guangxi. It’s still a strong dialect in Guangxi today. The mandarin of the Southwest in Guangxi is usually called "Gui Liu Mandarin" because Guilin and Liuzhou, located in northern and central Guangxi, are the two typical point of this mandarin. But the influence of Liuzhou mandarin is higher than Guilin, it spreads to Hechi, Laibin and Baise in Guangxi. Generally, those who say the mandarin of the southwest can talk to each other so we argue that the consistency and compatibility of this language is great. However, as a compact commuity of many nationlities, the language environment in Guangxi is quite complex. In different regions, there are some different changes between the mandarin of the Southwest because of the diachronic evolutions and the contemporary evolutions. Luocheng county located in the east of Hechi city and the north of Guangxi Province, is next to Yizhou city, Rongshui county and Liucheng county. The mandarin of Dongmen town is similar to Liuzhou and Yizhou, but there are some differences between them. In this paper, we take Luocheng mandarin as the research object, summarize its main characteristic after recording and describing its phonology, vocabulary and grammar systematically. Besides, through comparing and analyzing, we reveal the similarities and differences among Luocheng mandarin, Liuzhou mandarin and Yizhou mandarin. We also try to find some reasons to explain these differences. In the phonology survey, we investigate3853character pronunciations and find out the characteristics and discipline on the basis of the diachronic and contemporary comparison. In the vocabulary survey, we investigate4376words of Luocheng dialect and find out that the consistency of words in Luocheng dialect, Liuzhou dialect and Yizhou dialect is28.29%through careful investigation, comparison, selection and statistics. In the grammar survey, we focus on grammatical function, summarize the main characteristic through abundant examples. We hope this paper can reflect the panorama and main characteristic of Luocheng mandarin so as to provide materials and basis for the study of mandarin of Guangxi and the language contact.
