Drifting Soul Frustrating Habitation--The Cultural Connotation Of American Jewish Novels Seen From Issac Singer's Works

Jewish culture has evolved as a combination of long-term psychological deposit, the mode of thinking and behavior in the course of its history. The historical background of this culture shapes its culture characteristics and peculiar ideas---"descendants chosen by God". Because of the voting thought and keeping the promise with God, Jewry has experienced all kinds of world misfortunes, however, "the removal of the Jewish" has become one of the most important ideas in history—it reached the peak during the World WarⅡ.Owing to the racial oppression and political calamity, from the late-19th century to the mid-20th century, a great number of Jewish immigrants poured in the American society. The complex and profound conflicts and mixture can be perceived between Jewish traditional culture they load and American culture. American Jewish novels, as combination of different cultures, necessarily contains enormous cultural aesthetic connotation. Based on Singer's novels, this essay reflects the cultural details of the American Jewish writers and works from the viewpoint of literature and explore its changed history trails and cultural value. Literature is consistently considered as the culture carrier and the novels make it prosperous with its own peculiar advantage. I·B·Singer, one of the most famous novelists, intensively reflects the characteristics of American Jewish novels. In his works, he put the thought of ages throughout the Jewish tradition, with another Jewish culture value produced and reconstructed the culture in the reflection. The Jewry has its own characteristics in life and spirit. This is so-called "community" and "spirit community". The Jewish has scattered all over the world since the time of drifting, several Jewish communities have been formed. They keep its tradition and separate from the outside.
