Altan tobci (Golden History) written by Living Buddha Morgen is one of annalistic history books in Mongolian, compiled in the eighteenth century. Altan tobci (Golden History) is a historical work with unique value of historiography among the historical documents in the 17th- 19th century in Mongolian. Many achievements have been made of its study in the fields of literature and philosophy. However, the study has been empty so far from the angle of historical data science. The essay systematically does texual research and discrimination of Altan tobci (Golden History)by Morgen on the basis of the successes scored in predecessors' research and by means of making the most of the data concerned in Mongolian, Chinese, Man(Manchu) language and foreign languages and from the angle of historical data science. The author not only points out its errors but also expounds its unique value of historical data and its indispensible position in the field of the study of Mongolian science. Meantime, the author sums up the characteristic of Altan tobci (Golden History) by Morgen, and puts forward the understanding of his own and brings forth some new ideas.For the first time, the author points out that Altan tobci (Golden History) is the family history of Hasar. The organic combination of the narration of history and mosaic poetry is itscompiling characteristic. It is a historical work with history and demonstration combined. In the fields of the Buddhistic world view and the doctrine of mankind origin, Morgen put forward the theories of Four Mandalas and Godgiven. Morgen fallowed the doctrine of the same origin of Indian-Tibetan-Mongolian monarch, stressing the traditional viewpoint that Forefather Genghis Khan was Heaven's son and was born with God's will.The essay consists of four parts,i.e., the preface, the body, the conclusion and references. Chapter Three is about the demonstration of the pedigree of Hasar family recorded in Altan tobci (Golden History). Chapter four is about the characteristic of Altan tobci (Golden History) by Morgen.
