The Comparative Study On The Corresponding Sections Of The Secret History Of Mongols And Lubsangdanjin’s Golden History

the Secret History of Mongols and Lubsangdanjin’s Golden History (Altan-Tobci) are very important resources for the studies on Mongolian historical documents and Medieval Mongolian Studies.This dissertation did a comparative study on the corresponding sections between the Secret History of Mongols and Lubsangdanjin’s Golden History trying to explain the differences between the words, sentences and grammatical forms in these similar parts.The dissertation consists of five parts as following:The Preface introduces the previous studies on the corresponding parts between the Secret History of Mongols and Lonsangdanjin’s Golden History, explains the significance of this study and its research objective, and methodology.Chapter One compares the differences of words and sentences between the corresponding sections of the Secret History of Mongols and Golden History. Through detailed comparison, we found that there exists some adding, deletions, alterations and exchanges of the locations of the words and sentences in the corresponding sections of Golden History. From this, we can get the conclusion that the author of Golden History refers to the different version of the Secret History of MongolsChapter Two indicates the differences in meaning through the comparison between some words in the corresponding sections of the Secret History of Mongols and Golden History. This chapter describes the author’s intentional rewriting, unintentional rewriting and rewriting from misreading in the corresponding sections of Golden History, interprets the evolution of meanings.Chapter Three studies the differences between the noun forms and verb forms in the corresponding sections of the Secret History of Mongols and Golden History. In noun form study, comparing the differences between case, possessive, gender and number etc. categories while the verb form’s comparison studies the differences between verb attaches, objective-verb and adverb-verb, interprets grammatical evolution and historical development of Mongolian Language between13-17century.Chapter Four addresses about the differences in the scripts of the corresponding sections of the Secret History of Mongols and Golden History. There are many difference such as adding, deletions, rewritings and exchanges of characters in Golden History. This was caused by the characteristics of Uighurjin Mongol scripts. Meanwhile, this further improve that the Secret History of Mongols was written in uighurjin Mongol script originally.The Conclusion section summarizes the full content and provides the obtained research findings.
