In Ming Dynasty, with regard to "The Literary Mind and Carving of Dragons " ,Yang Shen's criticism had special meaning. Yang Shen claimed that we didn't expose when he criticized "The Literary Mind and Carving of Dragons" ,he used more circles and dots, but his comments were very few. When the posterity research yang Shen's criticism in "The Literary Mind and Carving of Dragons ",they more pay attention to the comments, they hardly are involved in circles and dots, if even they mention circles and dots, they negate it totally. In Chinese ancient history of marking literary works in general with circles and dots, Yang Shen used five kinds of colors including red, yellow, green, blue, white to superscript punctuation marks and running commentaries on "The Literary Mind and Carving of Dragons", he created a unique style of his own, and the style introduced a novelty or novel feature. The writer combines more than twenty remarks and other works and commentaries relative to Yang Shen's, and investigates and traces about more than ten circles and dots from the angle of the writhing creative theory. The whole thesis is made up of three sections: index epigraph, text, peroration. The part of epigraph introduces Yang Shen's biography, the literary circles condition of Ming dynasty and the contents of "The Literary Mind and Carving of Dragons" written by Liu Hsieh. The part of text includes conception comment, language and nature comment, inherit and innovation comment. In conception comment, Yang Shen considered creative subjects not only had a large stock of information, but also he brimmed with talent; whenhe conceived, he threw in his genuine feelings; when he expressed himself, he wrote spontaneously. In language and nature comment, the writer picks up three aspects: language and nature, wind and bone, grammar. Yang Shen stressed both language and nature, and he thought contents determined shapes, at the same time, Yang Shen didn't negated the importance of language, on the contrary, he emphasized specially that the article should have literary grace, even he went beyond Liu Hsieh's opinion; About wind and bone, Yang Shen had distinctive viewpoint, he thought it was appropriate that Liu Hsieh explain the wind and bone differently, he explained wind and bone with "clear" and "vigorous", "bright-coloured" and "beautiful", "tone" and "style", this not only increased more angles of comprehending the meaning of wind and bone, but also it gave some new meaning of wind and bone; In grammar comment, the writer sums up four points, namely strange sentences, proverb, elegant sentences and implicative meaning, and the author studies them differently. Inheriting and innovating comment contains three points: swallowing anything and everything, finding new ways of doing things from old theories, pursing innovation in inherit. Yang Shen maintained we should study extensively, we weren't been limited a dynasty or a person, while learning the ancient articles, we should blend harmoniously and grasp thoroughly, we didn't stick to ancient ways and thoughts. Summing up above-mentioned two aspects, we make a conclusion that Yang Shen's standpoint is dialectical, complete, reasonable, namely pursing innovation in inherit, adapting an era in accommodating. In the part of peroration, the writer probes into differentiations of five kinds of colors circles and dots about Yang Shen's Criticism in "The Literary Mind and Carving of Dragons" ,namely where them are used respectively. Because the age is permanent, the data lacks, I do just a rough comparison, it is no doubt there is some omission in the article, so I hope that specialists give me someadvice or comments.
