On The Later Poetry Of SuShunqin

Su Shunqin wrote down all sorts of poetry, though he died in his youthful years. His poetry can be divided into earlier stage and later one. However, from the present condition of research with Su Shunqin's poetry, it is necessary to do some comprehensive and systematic study about his later poetry. Therefore, the author sort out about one hundred and thirteen pieces of his later poetry from ANNALISTIC PROOF AND ANNOTATION OF COLLECTED WORKS OF SU SHUN QIN as researching test, and try to give it a general discussion with careful study in test.The thesis consists of four parts:The first part delimits the range of his later poetry according to the writting time, geographical position and quantity.The second part analyzes his later poetry's thoughts and content. Considering that masterpieces are the reflection of writer's spirit and life, the writing creation is restricted by the changes of his life. In view of which, there were different contents because of Su Shunqin's ups-and-down during his two periods. So, the author discusses the content classifying into four categories: criticized the dark reality and expressed indignant emotion; gave expression to his feelings and rational interests in describing scenery poetry; continued to make friends and showed their profound friendship; was full of homesickness and comfort the distressed heart.The third part analyzes Su Shunqin's later poetrys artistic characteristics,which includes four sections: mainly used the last regulated verse in forms; sent his feelings in metaphor in mode of expression; gradually became sentimental in building images; was plainly and aptly worded in language.The gloomy and desolate style played a dominant role in his later poetry.The fourth part explores character spirit mode from his later poetry: Canglang spirit of style. And elaborates the source of building Canglang Pavilion, implications and significances of Canglang spirit of style.
