Su shunqin played a big part in the poetry and prose revolution in the Song Dynasty because of his literary opinion and his works.The thesis is composed of four parts. Part One is attempt to analyze the political complex of Su shunqin. He was a fighter in the Qingli Revolution and he wanted to dedicate all his life to politics. Even after official exile he still couldn't disremember his political ideality.Part Two is focused on the influence of his political complex to his literary opinion. He opposed the showy style of the Xikun Genre and advocated the utilitarianism of literary writing. This is based on the contemporary thoughts of the revival of Confucianism.Part Three aims at the influence of his political complex to the contents and artistic characteristics of his works. His poems manifested his concern to political affairs of his times. His artistic style is bold and unconstrained. This part also illustrates Su shunqin's great contribution to open the new path for the development of the poetry in the Song Dynasty.
