According to Fredric Jameson's theory and practice of literary criticism, this thesis attempts to analyze his conclusion that political visual angle consists of absolute visual field of all readings and interpretations. The foreword generally describes Jameson's academic career and then draws main part. The main body discusses from three aspects: First, it discusses Jameson's attitudes to Marxism. He thinks that Marxism is a never striding across horizon up to now. But he also thinks that the old Marxism model can 't be perfectly employed. So he maintain that we should not only stick to the guiding position of Marxism in literary criticism field, but also develop literary criticism of Marxism in the new literary criticism practice and establish the culture hermeneutics of dialectical criticism. Second, this thesis discusses Jameson's interpretation about historical materialism. He thinks that the discovering of historical materialism is a Gibani style revolution. Some people always refuse admitting the ideology quality of literature and art, but they never escape from the controlling of ideology. He also thinks that the ideology has changed from concept, faith to behavior, practice and that merchandise behavior is its own ideology. Third, this thesis discussesJameson's theory that the culture is a symbol behavior of one certain social mode of production. Using the theory of relationship between economic basis and superstructure, he has analyzed the postmodernism culture and the third world literature. He thinks that postmodernism is the reflection of economic structure of late capitalism and the national fable is the basic character of the third world literature. The conclusion replenished the main body. It also evaluated Jameson's idea that political criticism consists of absolute visual field of all reading and interpretation in total. The thesis thinks that Jameson's idea seems estimable in today that the termination of ideology has been a prevalent topic and the pure beauty appreciation has been being fashionable.
