Frederic Jameson, as a contemporary famous Marxism critic and theorist in the United States, has created a series of work with rich content and broad range in his past 40 years'academic career. However, because of his broad knowledge, obscure and esoteric writing styles, numerous literary works, combined with his active thinking, and constantly changing the interpretation of symbols, he never listed any keywords in his articles and monographs. Therefore, it is evidently difficult to read and understand Jameson's thought thoroughly. Recently the academic study of Jameson's thought is mostly confined to one aspect of his theory, and lack of an overall description. This thesis mainly focuses on the following aspects:Firstly, with anatomizing single text of Jameson's theory, it digs out the soul and main line from his complicated and profound theory, that is, Marxism. Secondly, it further explains that Jameson's comprehension of Marxism is what kind of Marxism, and in what sense he used the Marxism. Again, it deeply interprets the true meaning and specific manifestation of Jameson's comprehension of Marxism. Finally, it describes the thinking and illumination through the analysis of Jameson's Marxism. This thesis argues that, the soul of Jameson's theory is Marxism, and his comprehension of Marxism is actually a critical theory of late capitalism culture. To analyze and evaluate overseas Marxism correctly, to further enrich and develop Marxism under the new conditions, and to solve Chinese practical and contemporary issues, the study of western scholar Jameson's thought of Marxism provides us important reference value.
