Visual Culture In The Cultural Revolution And Graphic Design Of The Cultural Revolution Style

This dissertation has two purposes. The first one is to find the sketch of the Visual culture in The Cultural Revolution with the point view of visual design, and to settle and induce it with the concept of VIS of The Cultural Revolution. The VIS of The Cultural Revolution is a new mode and standard established on the visual design, iconology and Communication. In this mode, some most representative visual elements(graphic type color etc.) Is included, which is not weighed by the criterion of traditional notion on Arts.The other purpose is to interpret the evolution and characters of VIS in The Cultural Revolution, expatiate the connection between deconstructionism and popular culture, investigate visual design and Avant-garde as an emphasis. It is also about how to explore a way to endow VIS with new characteristics in new era and the possibility of VIS in The Cultural Revolution being a design style with Chinese character.This article has two main parts-Visual Culture in The Cultural Revolution and The Cultural Revolution visual design and these two parts are the all and the one. The former is the base on the latter and the latter is the reconstruction of the former.The article concludes that Visual Culture in The Cultural Revolution serves for visual design. The latter will help to deconstruct design elements( graphic type color etc) from relative Visual Culture not on the political purpose and turn to the masses consuming purpose. It also help Visual Culture of The Cultural Revolution find its new power and avoid bad development on present stage.
