This paper analyzes the individual features of some main murals which were created in china in the recent thirty years, namely, from the end of 1970s to now. It investigates their aesthetic circumstances after entering into the receiving fields since they were created. The emphasis of investigation lies in the process in which mural creation has been transformed from the original aesthetical tendency to multifaceted tendency during this period, and the public feature brought about by the relevance of mural itself and our environment. The paper clarifies the necessity of murals' satisfying the public's expectant field of vision and the inevitability of increasing their ken, so that there can be more communication and dialogues between mural creation and expectation of the receivers. So the paper illustrates the certainty of the modern mural creating following a polybasic development in the bi-directional dynamic communication.The paper inquires into the development of modern mural creating beginning with talking about the coincidence of murals' public features and the receiving theory regarding the readers as concerning center. Murals' public feature determines that mural creating must cater to the public's aesthetic standards on the largest scale. Mural works can satisfy, surpass and renew the public's expectation field of vision, at the same time they will initiate the mural creating's change in their aesthetic features. And such changes of mural works will also cause the change and rebuilding of the public's aesthetic standards. It is in the dynamic process of continual communication that the two can develop.It is not fortuitous that there has been an aesthetical tendency in modern Chinese mural creation, and it is the concentrative reflection of the public's aesthetical requirement in a certain historic period. However, after being satisfied with theiraesthetical demand, the public's expectation field of vision has transformed with the development of the times and the similarity of murals created. This change has brought about a new demand on the part of those creators of murals, which is the external motivation of developing murals. Thus creating murals demands a transformation of the creators' beliefs. Of course, aesthetical tendency still holds some space for its self-exploitation in the creation of modern murals.In modern public environment, the art of mural creation is sure to be riotous and diversified with a purpose of satisfying and guiding the public's vision and psychological requirement and a gist of the people's consciousness. Mural creation should realize its art value in the process of the distance' occurrence, enlargement and ending between mural works and the public's expectant field of vision. In modern cultural context, the public's aesthetic temperament has become multifaceted, and the transformation of mural art in its perception has also become true with its mission of guiding and satisfying the public's expectant field of vision. Mural creating has got to a new phase which is multifaceted rather than its original single creative model.In the continuous communication and dialogue between the public's expectant field of vision and mural art, there'll be infinite developing vitality in the future for mural creation, it facing a possibility of another leaping.This paper takes up the audience receiving as its main thread, analyzes the current situation of modern Chinese murals and the objective demand on their forecasting, explores the development of modern Chinese murals within a limited extent and clarifies the inevitability of mural creation entering a multifaceted phase in the process of realizing the promotion of the public's expectant field of vision.
