The Tryst Through Different Time And Space--The Comparative Study Of Newly-Edited Stories By Lu Xun And Bronze Age By Wang Xiaobo

The novels by Lu Xun and Wang Xiaobo, who lived in different time and space, one was at the beginning of the century, the other was at the end of the century, present the same aesthetic trend in style, that is "Carnivalization" and "Vefremdungseffekt", which makes the two writers run across different time and space manifesting mysterious comparability, which is called "Tryst".This thesis try to use the Carnivalization Theory of Bahtin and the Vefremdungseffekt Theory of Brecht to make a comparative comprehension for the purpose of giving a new theory perspective to the study on Lu Xun and Wang Xiaobo.In my papers, there are three parts including the introduction the main body and the conclusion.The introduction simply retrospects the study fruit on Lu Xun and Wang Xiaobo, and introduces the writing purpose and intention.The main body consists three parts. The first part is "The Carnival Tryst", in which I mainly use Carnivalization Theory of Bahtin to comparatively comprehend Newly-Edited Stories by Lu Xun and Bronze Age by Wang Xiaobo. When I discuss the character of Carnivalization, three parts are included, which are "Carnivalization time and space" "Carnival ritual" "Carnival square and prank". "Carnivalization time and space" is not to obey the logic of normal time and space of reality and history. "Carnival ritual" is the main ritual of carnival, which is "Putting on crown and taking off crown banteringly". Accompany with "Taking off crown" is "Degradation", which means converting advanced, spiritual and abstract things into the indiscerptible substance and soma layer. Carnival Square is the place for carnival, while "prank" is indispensable which behaves in Newly-Edited Stories is narration strategy of prank and in Bronze Age does imp make the prank.The second part focus on the similar character of "Verefremdungsefftkt" of Newly-Edited Stories and Bronze Age by the "Verefremdungsefftkt" theory of Brecht. To achieve "Verefremdungsefftkt", there are three ways: "the interleaving of space and time structure" "disillusion" "history". "The interleaving of space and time structure" means ancient and reality time and space overlap each other. "Disillusion" intends not to let the audience go into illusion, as if they see a natural event without arrangement. "Oily" and "metafiction" lead to "disillusion". "History" is to make things become "historical event", which means the perspective of the essence, character and cause of the event in history, then take care and answer the contemporaryproblems by the way of parable. The writing intention of Newly-Edited Stories is to "dig the tomb of cur's ancestor"; the process of "digging the tomb of cur's ancestor" is the process of "history". While Wang Xiaobo pursue "interesting" who claim to write freely in a fictitious world without the restriction of reality logic. There are two ways to keep away from reality: one is putting reality to future; the other is putting reality to history. Undoubtedly Bronze Age chooses the later, namely "History". The common surface of "Verefremdungsefftkt" is "waggery", the "waggery" presented in Newly-Edited Stories is "opposite factor" "detail Vefremdungseffekt tumor" "similarity", and in Bronze Age is "perspective of the people on the verge" "contrast of the ancient and reality" "out of reason or out of criterion", the most advanced style of "waggery" is "grotesquery" manifested by the deformation of human being and animal etc. The two key factors of "Verefremdungsefftkt" in Bronze Age are "interestingness" and "irony".The third part aims at the digging of profound cause of "Tryst", pointing out that the two writers have similar anti-routine thinking, which has the character of openness, independence and profoundness. Similar life experience of Lu Xun and Wang Xiaobo leads to their "comparability" in thinking method.
