As one of the literary writing modes which have a long history, the “NewlyRecomposed Stories” has been inherited and developed by Li Bihua.Under the particular history conditions of Hong Kong, Li inherited,deconstructed, and rewired folk tales, historical events, fairy tales, historicalpersonages. She skillfully mixed sophisticated thought, vivid language, freelyimagination with time and space intertwining narrative pattern to describe everlastingemotion, and formed her own narrative style which surmounts life and death, passesthrough space and time.Through analyzing Li’s “newly recomposed stories” narrative pattern, thedissertation concerned her motive of choosing this narrative pattern, studied the socialcircumstances which could caused profound influence on her particular narrativemode. And explored the aesthetic value,the significance of sociology which couldbeen told in Li’s newly recomposed stories deeply.The dissertation consists of five parts. The first one is foreword, the next threechapters compose the main body of dissertation, the final chapter is epilogue. Now theconcrete framework are as follows:Foreword introduced Li Bihua’s unique coordinate in Hong Kong contemporaryliterature spectacle,her life experience and literary works,and related literaturecriticism.Chapter One introduced the origin and development of “Newly RecomposedStories”;the “Newly Recomposed Stories” in Hong Kong; Comparing Li’s retoldstories to pre-texts in the aspects of content, form, motif, technique to divide hernewly recomposed stories into three categories:“flesh”style“,bone”style and“gene”style. And analyzed her unique narrative pattern in detail.Chapter Two studied the consciousness and unconsciousness of Li’s narrativepattern from the“love”theme and the“foreordination samara”conception, exploredher motive and the social circumstances which could caused profound influence onher particular narrative mode,and studied the aesthetic value of her novels.Chapter Three studied the colonial mark of Li’s newly recomposed stories frommarginalization narrative and modernity critique,analyzed Hong Kong citizens’common ideology which mainly concentrated in the searching for identity intransition period through studying the Cultural Revolution and the1997carnival ofLi’s newly recomposed stories, and pointed out the limitaions of her ideology.The last chapter is epilogue that concluded the study of Li Bihua’s newlyrecomposed stories.
