Qu xiang theory is beyond all doubt the most important one and the guiding principle of Chinese calligraphy science. Chinese character, as the carrier of Chinese calligraphy, its very beginning Xiang xing(pictograph) achievesthe function about expressing meaning, and more importanty, it makes it possible for itself to develop into an art: in calligraphy art, Xiang xing (pictograph) sublimates and forms an advanced artistic image gradually. During the course of transmutation, from the pictographic writing to abstract artistic mode, Calligraphy experiences four stages including natural image, Yi jing(artistic conception) structure, life taste. At last, it surpasses other categrories in the field of art, and becames an national art that is the best one to express Yi Xiang (spiritual realm) and Qing cao (sentiment). This article is just to analyse the particular artistic mode of Chinese calligraphy art through the complex transmutation from Xiangof Chinese character to image of calligraphy.
