Syntactic, Semantic And Pragmatic Research On Verb-copying Entence

This paper studies a kind of special sentence called Verb-copying sentence in Chinese from syntactic, semantic and pragmatic level. In syntactic level, Verb-copying sentence doesn't make equal choice for verbs. It shows that monosyllabic verbs have priority over bi-syllable verbs and Verb-object verbs have priority over other bi-syllable verbs. In semantic level we study the transforming relationship between Verb-copying sentence and other sentences from semantic orientation. Sometimes it is necessary to use Verb-copying sentence because of the restriction of complements verb; In pragmatic level, the paper studies the grammatical value of Verb-copying sentence from the aspect of text expression, and it also refers to the necessity of using Verb-copying sentence in text.
