| Wei Jin is an age of turmoil, but of different colors, and of transition. Ruanji is a very important person of literary talent in the era. The writer will study the changes and structure of his cultural mentality which can give us a good angel to the study of cultural mentality of the whole society. It is very helpful to put forward the study of Wei Jin's thoughts. Judging from this aspect, his significance is more typical than those famous thinkers such as Wangbi. Because only little records are left about his thoughts and his influence is less than Wangbi etc. So many researchers has seldom studied Ruanji from the aspect of his cultural psychology when they made the study of philosophy history. If we study Ruanji's cultural psychology, it will be helpful to disclosing the structure and changes of the cultural mentality of the whole society Chapter one expounds the two resources of Ruanji's thoughts, which are traditional Confucianism and Taoism rising up from later years of eastern Han Dynasty, then the author analyses its influence on the structure of Ruanji's cultural psychology. The second chapter analyses the structure of Ruan's cultural psychology including 3 parts which are Confucianism, Taoism and the mediation between them, and Confucianism is the most important part among them. The third chapter analyses the changes and reasons of his cultural psychology in different periods, Which depend on his works and social reality, and discloses that Taoism and Confucianism has been fused in theory but not finished in real politics because of many reasons. This leads to mental rapture of those literati like Ruanji, which want to do but can't do. I think that it is universal cultural psychology of those literaties in Wei Jin time. In concluding remarks, the writer thinks that Confucianism and Taoism can't be fused together is an important cultural reason, which leads to Ruanji's tragedy of life. The fusion can't be finished in social reality but not in theory.
