There had been a lot of study on the Rebellion of Eight Princes in Western Jin Dynasty. This vital event related on two crucial questions: the system of enfeoffment and the fall of Western Jin Dynasty. Although there are some arguments between early and recent viewpoints, both of them regarded the former as a main cause of the civil strife. The latter had been regarded as a result of the strife. However, the system of enfeoffment in Western Jin Dynasty and the princes had been regarded as existed facts in study related. The essay carried out a viewpoint that the evolution of enfeoffment in Western Jin Dynasty lead to the strife. The evolution exerted a tremendous influence to the politics and general trend of this dynasty.The essay consists of three parts. The first part is an analysis on the evolution of enfeoffment and the problems of princes related. The second part analyzed the princes' activities in vary stages so that a new comprehension to the civil strife came into being here. The last part analyzed the relation between such evolution and general trend of the dynasty from the angle of imperial clan.Meanwhile, the appellation of the Rebellion of Eight Princes isn't precise. The essay carried out an analysis on it. The adoption of such a phrase is regarded as a introduction of established usage and cause of the fall.
