This thesis attempts to carry on systematic analysis and explanation for central literature theory criticism as Myth- Archetype of Northrop Frye.Two great important concepts of Archetype and Myth are cutting points of this thesis. Through the rotation the comparative analyses of Jung (C · G · Jung) and Archetype theory, point out clearly the difference from the archetype which holds a dose of psychology by Jung, and give the archetype with the meaning of literature -its core is in terms of Literature Archetype, however Jung hold collective unconscious exists in the cores of concepts for doses of Archetype. Then, the author shifts from the definition of the archetype, meaning and narration structure literature of making a concrete analysis of the Archetype. Myth is the foundation which Frye studies the theoretical system. In this part, explain the mythology from meaning of the Archetype emphatically, namely Myth is Archetype, thus announced an important thought of the Frye that namely Myth is "structure organizational principle in literature form" , so he regards literature as "shifting myth" , and its concrete method is Displacement.Literature development theory by circulation is another important respects of Frye Archetype,, This is the third part of this text, mainly discusses three kinds of literature circulation modes: first of all, he thinks that the literature development history of the world runsalong an annular track, namely the circulation of five kinds of literature modes; Secondly, he has found seven kinds of main images in the literary works, presenting the ring-type structure too, and the first paragraph meeting the last; The last circulations are the ones-literature narration structure, the whole courses comply with four seasons circulation. The author thinks the essence of Frye' s circulation theory is to explain that various kinds of literature archetypes.Just probing the foundations of the archetype of western literature, mythology and development, Frye has rebuilt the views in literature and criticism., This thesis discusses the way of reconstruction from three respects separately. He regards 1 iterature as an organic whole to study, so he advocates critics to carry on macroscopically research, finds and explain the overall form and universal law of literature and art, to reach a suitable paradigm, namely Archetype, thus Frye combines the literary works as a cross-cultural organic whole from the state which is not each other relatedo So he is probing essence and meaning of literature under a wide culture frame in factoThe last part of this thesis is about the methodology of Frye archetype criticism, namely Stand Back, which is a kind of the macroscopic method, pays attention to academic nature and science, and shows the unity of the theory-history and logic -history.
