| Xuxu was a writer whc paid much attention to individual existence and persisted in seeking the superorganic meaning of life, which can be found in his novels. When the young Xuxu entered the literary circle in the 1930s, he became famous and gained the hearts of many readers for his fancy and romantic stories which held his aspiration on ideal life. With the time going, Xuxu knew more about the pain of human life and society. Especially in the 1950, when he removed to Hongkong, facing the imperfectness of human nature and the absurdity of existence, he kept on reflecting on the individual existence of modern human with great sympathy, and tried to find the way to sublimate life. Ultimately, Xuxu's researching on the essence of life and his sufferings enlightened his looking for harmony and salvation from religious. All in all, Xuxu was keen on exploring the secret of human life because of his romantic idealist, both of his novels and individual spirit was inclined to romanticism and aestheticism. So, during his whole writing career, romantic soul can be always found from his novels.
